Vitali Silitski Fellowship 2026: applications are now open

The Center for New Ideas invites early-career Belarusian researchers to apply for a two-month fellowship designed to develop independent analytical projects inspired by the intellectual legacy of Vitali Silitski.

This programme combines learning, research, and practical experience within a think tank environment.

✍ What the fellowship offers:

Following the final pitch, up to five fellows will be selected. They will receive:

  • a two-month internship at the Center for New Ideas (6 April – 5 June 2026)
  • a scholarship of up to €2000 (gross)
  • publication of their final analytical paper (up to 2000 words) on the CNI website

👥 Who can apply:

  • Belarusians under 35
  • Professionals from academia, civil society, media, or business
  • Residing in an EU or Eastern Partnership country (excluding Belarus), with legal residence status, access to the labour market, and a bank account
  • Have not previously been part of the permanent team of the Center for New Ideas (short-term collaboration does not affect eligibility)
  • English proficiency sufficient to participate in discussions
  • Availability for the Warsaw offline stage and the two-month online internship

🔖 Applicants are expected to submit

  • A short research pitch (up to 300 words) building on or developing the ideas of Vitali Silitski
  • A CV (in English, up to 2 pages)
  • A motivation letter (up to 300 words)
  • A list of key publications
